Types of Auctions

Every year, hundreds of thousands of used cars are sold at BCA across Europe and buying at an auction is easier than you might think. There is a huge supply of used cars available, coming from various sources, and responding to every need and budget. To know which cars are available and where they come from, just search for the different types of auctions. In alternatives, if you want to start searching for your next car or see the auction catalogs, just select Cars or auctions Calendar at the top of this page.

Physical Auctions

Physical Auctions

There is nothing better than the Physical Auction at BCA to live the real auction experience: an extensive offer of used cars under one roof that allows you to easily compare prices and quality. BCA currently holds 3 auctions per week: 3rd Fair (Pombal), 4th Fair (Lisbon), 6th Fair (Oporto)

Live Online Auctions

Live Online Auctions

For customers who do not have the possibility to be in the Physical Auction, they can watch it through Live Online. You can still use the "automatic bidding" feature that automatically puts bids for you. Up to the maximum amount you previously set.

Online Auctions

Online Auctions

Auctions that are exclusively for online users, using Live Online technology. BCA currently holds an online auction on Thursday at 11:00 a.m.

Direct Auctions

Direct Auctions

Every week, BCA conducts dozens of targeted and exclusive auctions on the internet.

These auctions take place on an E-commerce platform, where vehicles are available simultaneously, from the beginning to the end of the auction.

Machinery Auctions

Machinery Auctions

Equipment auctions are carried out periodically at BCA Pombal and provide diverse machinery and material for civil construction and public works, agriculture and transport, to the best market values. Backhoe loaders, mini loaders, multifunction tractors, agricultural tractors, generators, compressors, heavy vehicles and galleys are some of the equipment available at BCA auctions. These auctions are Physical and Live Online.

XBid Phase

XBid Phase

Sometimes online auctions end with an xBid phase. This system allows the buyer to offer a bid in the last moments of the lion. Auctions with xBid phase are identified with a red chronometer icon. The xBid phase starts a few minutes after the online auction ends.

You also have the possibility of using the "Automatic Bidding". This means that the system will place a bid each time another buyer bids, without ever exceeding the maximum amount stipulated by you.

You can also place all auctions with XBid stages at the top of your website.

Jargon Buster

These are the most common terms you will encounter when working with BCA

What is the reserve price?

What is the reserve price?

Before the sale, the seller refers a base price in which he agrees to sell the car. During the auction, once the reservation price is reached, the car is automatically sold to the highest bidder.

What is a provisional sale?

What is a provisional sale?

If a car does not reach the reserve price set by the seller, but the bidder believes that the price achieved in the auction can be accepted by the seller, he accepts the higher bid as a provisional sale. The BCA will then negotiate without your name with the seller, seeking to complete the sale. The seller may accept the provisional sale or ask for an increase in it. Only if both parties agree to the negotiated price, the sale will take place.

What is VAT included?

What is VAT included?

Some of our used cars include a system called VAT. This scheme allows registered dealers to pay only the VAT corresponding to the difference between the amount paid by the car and the price at which it is subsequently sold - that is, the margin. There is therefore no VAT to be recovered on the item purchased, and there is no VAT payment if there is no profit from the busines

In an online auction, what is the Deductible VAT?

In an online auction, what is the Deductible VAT?

Deductible VAT refers to vehicles whose VAT was never charged to the final customer, that is, the VAT that was always recovered from the tax authorities. Usually, they are leasing or rental contracts, with VAT being shown on the invoice as a separate element of the total sale price.

In an online auction, what is the VAT addition?

In an online auction, what is the VAT addition?

The VAT is added to the vehicles whose price charged by BCA is exclusively VAT (excluding VAT). The final payment made by the buyer will include VAT, and this will be included at the value of the winning bid, unless the purchase can be invoiced on a VAT-free basis. BCA will invoice vehicles purchased for export without VAT. In these cases, BCA will invoice the net value on all those who are dependent on export evidence. If you want to meet the conditions for registering free Iva invoices for international auctions, check the registration process.
